This weekend, G and I are finally taking a break and heading out for a quick snowy getaway in Alberta, Canada. After a few canceled trips, I couldn't be more excited to explore a new place with some magical weather that we never get to experience in Southern California. Over the next few days, we'll be trying out ice hiking (really cool, but terrifying) and enjoying as much of the spa as the great outdoors. Plus, it's supposed to snow Saturday, so I truly couldn't be more excited.
As always, I start packing by looking at the weather, the itinerary, and then creating a detailed list from there. By separating everything into clothes, beauty, miscellaneous, and tech, I'm less likely to forget something for our four-day trip. After listing it out, I headed to my closet to assemble outfits based on the activities of the day and how badly I'll need extra warm layers (spoiler alert: it's a lot).
Whenever I travel, I try to wear my nicest, bulkiest coat in order to save room in my suitcase. For our three-hour plane ride, I opted for a simple graphic tee, my Gucci coat, a pair of AGOLDE jeans I'll wear all weekend long, and my most versatile sneakers.
As much as I wanted to bring a variety of dresses and jackets for nighttime looks, everyone in the office reminded me just how cold it might be at night. Every evening, I'm planning to wear a variation on a sweater, jeans, and booties for a cozy but cute chalet look.
I'm not going to give away our entire itinerary, but I am just too excited about this ice hike to keep it a secret. Honestly, I have no clue what it entails, but I was warned to wear layers. I've packed my Madewell hat, Eddie Bauer leggings and snow pants, athletic tank, a sports bra, and an Eddie Bauer fleece and jacket.
Of all our days, this is the most "me" since we'll be spending our time relaxing. I didn't need anything more than an Iro sweater and Jennifer Behr headband to pair with my go-to jeans and sneakers. I also packed two bathing suits in my cute Old Navy bikini pouch so I can enjoy the amazing pool and spa.
On the last day of any trip, the only thing I want is comfort. I'll be wearing one of my favorite The Great. sweatsuits layered under my Gucci coat for maximum warmth (and coziness while I hopefully sleep on the plane).
Of course, I could never be limited to the exact number of outfits I need, so here's a list of everything I'll be bringing on this trip:
