When I set out to design my Cupcakes and Cashmere Bedding and Lighting line, which launched earlier this year, I began with my own home. Before even considering what the line would look like, I walked around the house and took note of the items that make me excited to walk in the door at the end of a long day. The final list was random (I wrote down everything from "neon-yellow tray" to "marble countertop"), but one item stood out to me in particular as being a special home accent: our Moroccan wedding blanket. When Geoffrey and I moved into our current home, the first house we've ever owned, we bought it for the foot of the bed to make our plain white sheets a little less plain. Overtime, it became one of my favorite elements in our otherwise minimal bedroom. The only problem with Moroccan wedding blankets—and the only reason I don't have them in other parts of the house—is that they are generally an investment and can cost hundreds of dollars, if genuine. When I designed this pillow, I wanted to create something with the same feel of a Moroccan wedding blanket, but at an affordable price-point. I couldn't be happier with the final result, and am especially thrilled with its versatility—it looks just as much at home on our deep blue living room couch, leather sitting room couch (pictured above), and the pink sofa in our office.
