If you've been following along, you know I had a challenging spring, with a string of events that triggered some anxiety and left me feeling depleted. Over the past few weeks, things have really fallen into place, and just felt right. My family's healthy (cats included), our business is growing (we recently made two new hires!), Sloan starts school in just a few weeks, and I could not be more excited about the direction our blog and Shop is headed. While change has always been challenging for me, I feel re-energized by the momentum of where Cupcakes and Cashmere is headed.
After nine years of running this site, I've been feeling the need to change how we do things and evolve the content on the site. I'm not going to stop writing about things that inspire me, with the hopes they have the same effect on you, but what I want to do more than anything else is create more content that resonates with you and our community on a more intimate level. I want you to feel inspired to share your own stories and advice and create a dialogue with our team. You're going to be seeing a lot of new things, from more video and social content, to new topics and series, and a slew of new products on the Shop. Some things are going to work; others aren't—and that's okay. I'll be listening to your feedback every step of the way as we experiment with new ideas and ways of engaging with you.
We have so many fantastic plans that I can't wait to share with you, but I'd also love to hear: Is there anything you'd like to see me cover on the site? (Those who have been asking for an update on the perfect blowout, I hear you!) Summer has always had an energizing and inspiring effect on me, and that's more true this year than it's ever been. Cheers to change!
P.S., Speaking of video content, you may have seen our live Coffee Talk yesterday morning, and make sure you tune into tomorrow's Facebook Live with What's Gaby Cooking at 10 a.m., PST!
