Big events, where I'm the guest of honor, are typically not my thing. But in the case of our Ten Year Anniversary Party, I couldn't wait to celebrate—primarily because it felt so much bigger than just me. While I started this brand, there have been countless people supporting me the whole time (friends, family, readers, and our truly incredible team) and this party was just as much for everyone of them (and you!) as it was for me. I knew it would be fun simply by glancing at our guest list, but it was truly one of the best nights of my life. For those of you who couldn't join us, here's a little recap of how the night went!
Our morning started out with blowouts and blasting Beyoncé at the office (thanks, Prete, for kickstarting the party!). By the time we arrived at the site, Trunk Club in Culver City, to start setting up at 11 A.M, we were already perfectly coiffed (but still wearing loungewear for maximum comfort). We immediately got set stuffing swag bags, each of which included over $500 worth of amazing goodies (some of which we may or may not have tested for quality control purposes—we're looking at you, cookies).
We cannot thank you our gift bag sponsors enough for helping us create a gift bag more than worthy of our 10-year celebration: Ariel Gordon, Baublerella, Birdie by Olika, DeLuscious Cookies, Drybar, Eberjey, EF Collection, Flora*py, Honeybelle, Kai, Kitsch, Shashi, Sockerbit, Sundry, SusieCakes, Tai, Valley Cruise Press
It was so fun to see the artistry and meticulousness behind the event set-up (all orchestrated by the lovely Ashley Port of BK Events). The balloon arch and the SusieCakes cupcake and Of the Flowers flower wall were beyond perfect and our excitement levels only climbed higher as we watched them both get assembled.
We had four bars at the party (don't worry, only two of them were actually alcoholic—the other two were a kombucha mocktail 'tiki' bar by Health-ade and a nail art bar by Olive & June). One of the alcohol bars was dedicated to our signature cocktail of the night, a rosy gin-based cocktail that was dangerously drinkable. You and Yours, the coolest female-owned distillery based in San Diego, is sharing our party's recipe so we can relive the night over and over again (at the bottom of this post!).
From the crudité set-up that was almost too pretty to eat, to the Sockerbit gummies and SusieCakes cupcakes table, there was no shortage of food and sweets to fill up on. We loved the fact that there were one-bite options so we didn't make a mess of ourselves while mingling with our guests.
Arguably one of the most amazing parts of the night was being able to thank those who have made this blog and company what it is today, with a Champagne toast with one of my favorites: Alit Champagne, poured into Champagne towers created by Soirée 8. Although it was somewhat of a walk down memory lane (shout out to our first-ever employee, Phoebe!) it was also a great opportunity to look ahead and anticipate all that is to come. Cheers to the past ten years as well as the next!
