This week was tough, but the longer, lighter days have been a bright spot - no pun intended. We've been leaving the windows and doors open while hanging at home (with screens, so the cats can't escape), and hearing the breeze rustling through the trees while we cook and spend time together as a family is something I savor. I'm really looking forward to experiencing the thick of park and pool season with Sloan at this age: picturing her in a floppy hat, her little sunscreen-slathered thighs splayed out on the grass while she eats ice cream for the first time.
