{A sweet little Independence Day picnic in the redwoods}

Our trip up to Marin this past week was our best yet. Usually when we go to stay with my parents, we use it as an excuse to unwind and basically make no plans for our entire stay. But this time, we approached it differently and every day was packed without being overwhelming—a trip to the zoo, visits to see my grandma, a 4th of July parade that winded through the redwoods, date nights (our meal at The Progress was incredible), breakfast with friends, foggy hot tub dips, home-cooked meals, and leisurely strolls around Mill Valley. It was such an amazing trip that I didn't want it to end, but the fact that it felt so long and indulgent made leaving on Wednesday a little easier. On Monday Sloan starts preschool (how is that even possible?!) so we'll be soaking up as much time with her over the weekend as possible before what's sure to be an emotional week.

P.S., Since this week was so short, we won't be posting a Weekday Wardrobe this afternoon. Have a wonderful weekend! x
