This weekend G's riding in a 100-mile-long charity bike race in Palm Springs and a while back, Sloan and I decided to join him. I'd been so excited to get away for our little family trip that I failed to realize it's the same weekend as the Women's March. My mom knit her hat for the event in San Francisco and I wish I could walk alongside her and the rest of my family and friends that are marching for equal rights. I'll be wearing my favorite sweatshirt in solidarity and imparting some of the lessons of this important moment to Sloan. She might be a little too young to fully understand the gravity and impact this may have on her future, but the spirit of respecting diversity and human rights is something that even a two-year-old can grasp.
