Our daily video call is the closest we get to a team photo these days!

It's been a few years since we last introduced you to our entire team, and there have been a few changes! At the end of 2020, we hired our new social media coordinator, Lauren, and cupcakes and cashmere is now spread out across Atlanta, Portland, and even the Philippines. The majority of our team operates behind the scenes, fulfilling Shop orders, aiding in jewelry design, sourcing the best candles, launching products, and responding to emails from customers—but you may recognize a few names and faces from @shopcupcakesandcashmere and contributions to the blog. Without further ado, here are the people who make up cupcakes and cashmere!

What does an average day look like for you at cupcakes and cashmere? I provide the overall creative direction and strategic vision for our retail and content business.
What’s playing on your Spotify right now? One of four genres, typically: country (when I'm by myself since neither G nor Sloan are into it), '90s hip hop, mellow coffee house vibes (Ray LaMontagne, Ben Harper, Mazzy Star kinda stuff), orrrr Disney music for Sloan.
Something you never leave the house without these days? A mask, hand sanitizer, snacks, a phone charger, and a water bottle.
What's one quirk only your best friend would know about you? That I'm very messy and disorganized. It's never more apparent than when I travel with my best friend, Cristina, and get a glimpse into how she packs her bags, displays her products, and maintains the room that I'm a complete disaster, ha!
Describe your perfect Saturday. This doesn't apply right now, but in the past, I'd want to get up around 7 AM, have a flat white and a scone, cuddle with Sloan and do something like a puzzle or coloring, take a bath in a face mask, give myself a mani-pedi, clean the house, meet up with friends for lunch and shopping, go get a massage, get home in time to watch a movie with Sloan, have one of G's famous cocktails while having dinner (preferably some sort of pasta dish) as a family, read Sloan some books before putting her to sleep, do crossword puzzles by the fire, and read a bit before going to bed.
Favorite food: This changes all the time, but if I had to pick just one, it would probably be potatoes. There's literally no bad way to cook them, and who doesn't live for hash browns, french fries, fully loaded baked potatoes, tater tots, and home fries?
Favorite item of clothing: The first sweater my mom knit me as an adult (I grew out of all of the ones she made me when I was a kid). She has a matching one and made one for Sloan as well and there's something about knowing all three generations own something she put so much love and time into. It also doesn't hurt that it's incredibly gorgeous, soft, and garners more compliments than pretty much anything else I own.
Thing you could do for hours and never get sick of: I'm not even a beach person or someone who particularly enjoys moving, but I could walk along the water looking for seashells for miles without realizing it.
What did you go to school for: Sociology and Media Studies
Favorite show right now: Just wrapped up Homeland (took a few years off) and I'm SO glad we went back. It's really well done, intense, and wonderfully acted. Also, extremely happy with how it all ended (which rarely happens with series you adore).

What does an average day look like for you at cupcakes and cashmere? Apart from emails (so many emails!) my primary responsibility is blog content—which is why you see so much of me here! I manage our editorial calendar, contributors, and content so any day you'll find me writing, editing, or adding links to a post, building graphics, assigning pieces, diving into the analytics of what you love, and pitching then creating more of it.
What’s playing on your Spotify right now? Lots of Rachel Portman. I listen to her soundtracks most of the time I'm working, every single day. It helps me focus!
Describe your perfect Saturday. A long hike with my pup Toast, my husband Jonah, and a ton of friends, before getting back to our campsite and sitting around the campfire with cold beers. In the winter, it's the same—but skiing!
What's one quirk only your best friend would know about you? I'm extraordinarily clumsy. Not in a "I'm cute and klutzy" way, but in a, "I knocked my brand-new, expensive candle off the counter last night" way.
Favorite food: Pasta, Panda Express's Orange Chicken, Ethiopian food, anything fried from a coastal seafood shack, and roasted vegetables (not necessarily together...)
Favorite movie: This is tough! But I always love Singin' in the Rain.
Thing you could do for hours and never get sick of: I never get tired of swimming and playing in ocean waves (another quirk my friends can vouch for).
What did you go to school for: Developmental Psychology and English
Savory or sweet: Savory! Unless we're talking blueberry pie with ice cream...
Favorite book of all time: A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara or literally any memoir

What does an average day look like for you at cupcakes and cashmere? Lots of phone/video calls, lots of emails, and lots of Instagram.
What’s playing on your Spotify right now? It's rotating between the show tunes/soundtracks from my favorite Broadway musicals, piano and acoustic covers of pop songs (especially the Bridgerton soundtrack) at the moment, and generally anything that involves Ben Platt.
What's one quirk only your best friend would know about you? I don't drink anything carbonated–soda, sparkling water, beer, and Champagne included.
What are your favorite things to talk about? Traveling, entertainment (specifically theater), and more recently, politics.
How do you wind down after a tough day? Order in from a local favorite restaurant, then curl up on the couch to watch one of my favorite movies with a fuzzy blanket and dessert.
Favorite food: Pancakes, hot dogs, or any form of gluten with butter
Favorite item of clothing: My Parachute waffle robe that I sleep in most nights
Cat or dog: My daughter won't like this answer, but both.
Beach or mountains: Beach (it's why I live in Venice!)
Twitter or Instagram: Instagram
Thing you could do for hours and never get sick of: Play Candy Crush. Don't judge, I beg you.
One word friends would use to describe you: Honest
What did you go to school for: Journalism and Marketing
Go-to drink order: Chocolate milk
Favorite book of all time: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows or The Immortalists
Favorite movie: Back to the Future

What does an average day look like for you at cupcakes and cashmere? I lead the Marketing team at C&C and manage our Shop website, which basically means that almost anything you see or read on shop.cupcakesandcashmere.com, I wrote/photographed/planned/put there!
What’s playing on your Spotify right now? Chromatica by Lady Gaga and the frankensteined playlist I made out of all the best songs on Taylor Swift’s 2020 albums folklore and evermore (that I've named "folkmore")
What are your favorite things to talk about? Books, ideas, time travel, and The Bachelor franchise
How do you wind down after a tough day? I take a long walk (or a long shower) and watch something I've seen a thousand times.
Most used app on your phone: Instagram, Spotify, and Podcasts
Savory or sweet: I appreciate something sweet in small doses, but give me all the French fries, potato chips, and anything covered in ranch.
Favorite item of clothing: It used to be jeans, but now I wonder how I ever wore them every day. Since we starting working from home, I live for (and in) Lululemon Align Leggings.
What did you go to school for: Marketing (both times!). I have a Bachelors from The University of Denver and a Masters from USC.
Favorite book of all time: This is obviously an INCREDIBLY hard question for someone like me to answer, but a few of my all-time faves (yep they’re allllll sci-fi/fantasy!) are: Dark Matter by Blake Crouch, Hyperion by Dan Simmons, The End of Eternity by Isaac Asimov, and The Broken Earth Trilogy by N.K. Jemisin.

What does an average day look like for you at cupcakes and cashmere? The majority of my time is spent managing our email and SMS promotional content. I work with the rest of the team to figure out what we want to share with you and then get to designing our newsletters. From time to time you will also find me in the @shopcupcakesandcashmere Instagram DMs answering your questions or obsessing over your cute ear parties!
What's playing on your Spotify playlist right now? I'm currently revisiting all my favorite '90s tracks. I love the hip-hop and R&B moments of that time but there's a special place in my heart for '90s rom-com songs. I currently have "You're a God" by Vertical Horizon and "She's So High" by Tal Bachman on loop.
Are you a morning person or night owl? A night owl through and through. It's when I feel the most inspired and productive. Usually, I spend some time with my family after dinner and then head into my room to catch up on work. When the rest of the household is asleep I feel like I'm in my own quiet little world. Perfect for focusing on the task at hand.
What are your favorite things to talk about? Movies, musicals, thrift shopping, and travel—in no particular order. But, you will be in for a very energetic conversation if any of these topics come up.
Cats or dogs: Dogs (I've had them all my life) but contrary to most ideas about dog lovers, I have a soft spot for cats. I just happen to be slightly allergic.
Savory or sweet: Savory. I try not to bring this up to our sweet-leaning team too often but my chosen vice is anything salty or potato-related.
Beach or mountains: 100 percent beach. I'm an island girl at heart and would live barefoot in a bikini if possible.
Thing you could do for hours and never get sick of: Sleep. I can sleep almost anywhere, any time. Much to my friends and family's disdain but hey, a good nap never hurt anyone.
Favorite movie: It's a tie between The Holiday and The Dark Knight. Not ashamed to say I watch both at least twice a year.

What does an average day look like for you at cupcakes and cashmere? As the Social Media Coordinator for about two months now, I’m still fairly new to the team, so my tasks throughout the workday aren’t totally uniform yet! My time is typically divided between independent creative brainstorming, assigning content to team members, creating and designing content for the Shop Instagram stories and feed, and daily meetings with the marketing team.
What’s playing on your Spotify right now? Most likely any and all '70s and '80s synth pop and pop rock! Talking Heads, Tears for Fears, The Beatles, Bowie, Blondie, The B-52’s, you name it.
What’s one quirk only your best friend knows about you? I can make some pretty disturbing/funny facial expressions, which goes hand in hand with being a master of impressions. If this side of my personality ever comes out around you, I must think you're special!
What are your favorite things to talk about? Music, favorite places I’ve traveled to, family and culture, childhood memories, personal growth and self help, and the cinematography/symbolism of my favorite movies.
Favorite food: Hot wings + ranch

What does an average day look like for you at cupcakes and cashmere? I manage all hair accessories and candle buys, and assist in apparel, home, and beauty buys as well. I spend most of my time researching new brands, trend-forecasting, and managing our deliveries to make sure they are on schedule.

One thing you never leave the house without? Lip gloss
What's one quirk only your best friend would know about you? I am really good at Galaga (the arcade game) and have my name on the leaderboard at a few arcades.
Describe your perfect Saturday. To start, a latte from our local spot, Obet and Del's, then a walk around the neighborhood with Canela. My fiancé Ryan makes breakfast and we take a short nap. Later we have some close friends over for beer and nachos and listen to some music. We end our day with a card game or Mario Party and some wine, and call it a night!

What does an average day look like for you at cupcakes and cashmere? As the Lead Buyer for the Shop, my average day consists of brand research, order maintenance, vendor communication and relationships, and placing orders. I spend a lot of time on developing new jewelry with our manufacturers, and maintaining a constant flow of merchandise into the Shop.
Are you a morning person or an evening person? What’s your routine like during that time? I naturally wake up before 7 or 8 everyday, and I love mornings, making coffee, and getting fully ready—this routine helps me launch into the day and feel more productive. I love to cook and do so often, so I usually start planning dinner midday. Once the clock turns to 8 or 9 PM, it feels like midnight to me, and I start to wind down for bed. Speaking of winding down...
How do you wind down after a tough day? I love brain teasers and puzzles. I always do crosswords, but this Christmas my fiancé bought me a various puzzle workbook, which I've had my nose in since I received it. I also love to tuck into mystery shows or whodunits; my current favorite is Columbo, which is a super fun throwback watch.
What's one quirk only your best friend would know about you? I have a very hard time with eating sounds! I know this is a somewhat common "ailment" but I try not to say anything when it happens because I don't want to be rude. Sometime I can ignore it, but even watching someone eat on TV drives me insane!
Thing you could do for hours and never get sick of: People-watch
Go-to drink order: Vodka soda with a lime
Beach or mountains: Mountains, but I fought this for a long time! Having grown up by the beach and lived near it for most of my life, I thought it was my favorite, but I really am more of a mountain person.

What does an average day look like for you at cupcakes and cashmere? I start my day by replying to all of our customer services questions, then move on to picking and packing the orders that are shipped out of our Los Angeles location. Unlike most of the team, I've gone back to working out of the office, which I love!
What’s playing on your Spotify right now? My current new on repeat find is a small band from San Diego called Almost Monday.
What's one quirk only your best friend would know about you? I'm obsessed with anything miniature or supersized.
How do you wind down after a tough day? A good ol' solo dance party—picture every single movie dance montage and add me in there.
Favorite food: Sushi/sashimi/poke. I could eat this all day everyday
Twitter or Instagram: Instagram all the way.
Thing you could do for hours and never get sick of: I could drive for hours, I never get sick of it.
One word friends would use to describe you: Loyal. I'm definitely a ride or die because I can't do things halfway even if I wanted to.
Favorite show right now: I'm currently obsessed with The Crown! Everything about that show is flawless.

What does an average day look like for you at cupcakes and cashmere? I'm in charge of all the inventory and planning for the company. I work very closely with Lisa and Raven for buying, Kelly for marketing, and G for all planning and supply chain strategy.
What’s playing on your Spotify right now? I just finished listening to Christmas music (which I started listening to after Halloween)
One thing you never leave the house without? My mask!
What's one quirk only your best friend would know about you? I am very derpy when I walk and will trip over almost anything.

What does an average day look like for you at cupcakes and cashmere? I’m the president of the company, but my job is really focused on overall operations, managing finances, HR, and general strategic planning for generating revenue. My day-to-day tasks are the least exciting and least visible at the company, but typically include approving/revising budgets for our retail operations, managing both accounts receivable and payables, corresponding with various partners (i.e. accountants, licensees, lawyers, etc.), and ensuring basic operations within our company are working correctly.
Are you a morning person or an evening person? Very much a morning person. I’ve never been able to sleep in. When the sun rises, my body automatically starts the day, regardless of when I’ve gone to sleep. It’s not always easy, but I’ve learned to accept it.
Describe your perfect Saturday. We wake up early, get a breakfast burrito and coffee from Go Get Em Tiger, go for a hike or bike ride, grab a light lunch before going to a movie, finishing with a high-calorie dinner at home.
What are your favorite things to talk about? I love discussing theories about popular movies or shows and unwinding hidden meanings. It’s interesting to hear someone’s take on what was really in the briefcase in Pulp Fiction, what really happened on LOST, or any of the countless threads you can find on Reddit about almost anything. Usually there’s no "there there" but it’s fascinating to see how others interpret stories and try to provide a strong argument.
Favorite food: Middle Eastern
Favorite item of clothing: John Elliot Sweatpants. I’ve been living in them during the pandemic.
Go-to drink order: Negroni
Favorite movie: Jaws
One word friends would use to describe you: Stoic
