Strawberry shortcake is one of those desserts that is just as fantastic now as it was when I was a child.* What's even more exciting is how easy it is to whip together on a random weeknight when strawberries are finally in season (I made an exception a couple months ago here). I used this recipe, which was exceedingly simple and took full advantage of the fresh berries and flaky biscuits. *The same cannot be said about Pop-Tarts, Bubble Gum ice cream and Candy Buttons.
