I usually prefer cookies that have a gooey center and chewy exterior, which is why I was surprised by how much I love these almond lace cookies. Although they look fragile, they have a deep toffee flavor, which pairs exceptionally well with chocolate. They're easy to make, but look like you've spent all day in the kitchen. I've been keeping them around as a snack with my afternoon tea, but when packaged up in cellophane, they also make for a really sweet gift.
