Soft serve is having a moment in L.A. and I'm so excited that it's now being made with high-end ingredients. It's always been one of my favorite desserts - the ideal hybrid between ice cream and frozen yogurt - and whenever it's on the menu, I order it. But it wasn't until I saw this recipe and video that I realized it was something I could make at home (without an ice cream maker!). Working with dry ice made it equal parts exciting and terrifying to make, but the end product was sweet and creamy soft serve that tasted as good as the fancy versions I've been ordering out.
