G and I aren't big believers in diets, particularly in the form of short-lived New Year's resolutions. That being said, January does serve as a clean start and a good excuse to reexamine what makes us feel our best. Cooking at home is something we love to do, but often get hung up on two things: meal planning and recipe fatigue. We either have trouble figuring out what to make (resulting in eggs for dinner more often than I'd like to admit) or we overdo it on specific dishes we begin to dislike.
We've been using Blue Apron for several years now and it's the best way to remove the decision-making process and keep things exciting and new. I love that all of the farm-fresh ingredients arrive in exactly the right proportions (which means no trips to the grocery store or wasted food). The dishes are inventive and flavorful, but easy to assemble after a long day at work. One of my favorite things we made recently were these mushroom and goat cheese quiches with a butter lettuce salad. On a cold evening, it was indulgent and turned an ordinary night into one that felt far more special.
