There are a lot of great desserts in L.A., but none of them are quite as special as Gjelina's Butterscotch Pot de Crème (Pizzeria Mozza's Butterscotch Budino is a close second). It's pretty much a weekend staple for me, which is kind of horrifying seeing as I now know just how much butter/heavy cream/crème fraîche is involved. It's an insanely rich butterscotch pudding served with a dollop of whipped crème fraîche, a drizzle of caramel, and finished with a flaky sea salt. At the restaurant, they're served in coffee cups, but these vintage teacups made for an even cuter presentation (and would be perfect if you're planning a Mother's Day brunch this weekend).
