The past few months have brought on a lot of changes, but one of the most dramatic has been to our daily schedule. We used to have a semi-casual approach to meal planning, since our days were flexible and we had plenty of time to create an intricate dish, while sipping on a glass of wine. But since Sloan's arrival, the leisurely process of prepping food has given way to whatever is most efficient and simple. Needless to say, we've been enjoying lots of take-out and cereal.
We love to cook and were considering trying a meal service plan when Blue Apron reached out with an opportunity to sample a few of their dishes. The idea of having fresh, local ingredients, pre-portioned into the recipe amounts (even the Worcestershire sauce came in its own adorable bottle) delivered to our doorstep was so convenient. Not only did it eliminate the need to figure out what we were going to make, but the meals we cooked were delicious and only took about 30 minutes. We tried three dishes and the spicy Thai chicken soup was our favorite. It was bright and flavorful and something we wouldn't have normally made on our own. It was so nice getting back in the kitchen and I'm looking forward to sampling a few more recipes, like the spring bucatini pasta and chicken mole.
