A few weeks back, I grabbed dinner with girlfriends and without any planning beforehand, all five of us showed up in patterns. We each noticed it immediately, resulting in several impromptu photo shoots outside of the restaurant.
Patterns aren't necessarily something I've always been drawn to—instead opting to rely on simple, straightforward pieces in neutral shades. But after that one night, I've noticed the shift almost everywhere I go—to brunch on the weekends, around the office, and while out shopping.
Dresses are the easiest way to embrace the trend since it's only one piece and you don't have to worry about clashing with other items: I love small prints since they're not too overwhelming and am currently considering this ruffled maxi in the prettiest periwinkle shade from Madewell, this sweet smocked option from Amanda Uprichard, and this long-sleeved dress from Rhode Resort for a fall wedding.
