In designing clothing, I collect countless prints and images as inspiration for each collection so that by the time it comes down to creating pieces, I have a fairly clear vision of what they'll look like. This was not one of those cases. I knew I wanted to create a velvet tracksuit, but an entirely velvet suit felt risky, and possibly too bold. It wasn't until we added the tuxedo side-taping down the trouser and added a button to cinch the blazer at the waist that it really started to fall into place, and I couldn't be happier with the end result. I was right that it'd be bold, but it's also entirely approachable. I love that I can wear the blazer jacket over denim (as an aside, our entire team is such a fan of this look that they frequently arrive at the office matching), and that the trousers are a great piece in their own right, even with cute sneakers. Together, they made for a luxe look, sure to make an impact at any formal event.
