In Southern California, flip-flops are a wardrobe staple. I first became obsessed with J.Crew's Classic flip-flop in college, but soon found that they lacked a substantial sole once I landed on my ass in the dining hall after slipping on some Gatorade. I immediately converted to Old Navy's version, that offered a little more grip, and at a third of the price, I went through about four pairs a year. That was, until I realized that they discontinued the style. I was extremely disgruntled before discovering their new Canvas Wedges. The stacked wooden heel, and the earthy details are so cute that they almost make up for the fact that my beloved flip-flops are no longer around.
