A few weeks ago, I jumped on the Shop's Instagram stories to talk about a new cookbook I was making my way through. Funny thing happened, though: Everyone seemed way more interested in what I was wearing than what I was cooking.
I bought this GANNI dress back in January during a blowout sale on Net-A-Porter when the holidays had wrapped and winter was still looming (yes, even in L.A.). Loungewear and athleisure were the only categories of clothing in my closet that had expanded over the past year, and this dress spoke to me on so many levels. The first thing I noticed was the color and pattern – I owned nothing in this striking cornflower blue, and I had caught the gingham fever without any plans to leave it behind. Next was the oversized babydoll collar with the ruffled trim that felt trendy yet sophisticated enough to still feel professional. I also loved the feminine silhouette paired with a more masculine color scheme, since my personal style tends to fluctuate between the two. And finally was the versatility of a piece like this. I imagined wearing it with Birkenstocks in the summer, and layered over a long sleeved turtle neck with combat boots in the fall or winter.
It's become one of my most-worn and most-complimented pieces, and I was excited to share it here...until I saw that it's only available on The Outnet in two sizes (though on major discount!). So instead, I scoured the internet to find some similar dresses in case you feel, like me, that you just have to have it.
