Much to the dismay of our teachers in high school, girls baring their midriffs (in spaghetti strap tank tops, no less) was pretty much a daily occurrence. And to make matters worse, the look was accompanied with low, hip-slung jeans and crop tops, which only increased the amount of skin being shown. As I approach thirty, the motto of "less is more" certainly rings true, but every once in a while, a sliver of skin (as long as it's above the navel) is an unexpected way to spice up the look of a voluminous skirt and patterned blouse.
