I have a long history with gray sweater dresses, but my style has evolved over the years. While I used to reach for skin-tight, shorter options (see here and here), I now find a relaxed, draped fit makes me feel more confident and sexier, in a subtler way. The version I designed for the Cupcakes and Cashmere Collection is actually two pieces—a skirt and a sweater—which creates the illusion of a layered dress, but can be worn any number of ways. For a pop of detail, I added an eye-catching metallic shoe in the same color family, but I'd be just as inclined to wear it with a contrasting-color pump to a date.
