Should You Wear Sequins After New Year's Eve?

Here's where I stand on the 'fashion rule'...

We're all familiar with the fashion 'rules': no white after Labor Day, don't wear black with blue, no denim on denim (the list could go on forever). But I've always considered those rules to be extremely loose guidelines, at most. The fact that we're supposed to wear sequins up until the stroke of midnight on January 1st, then ignore them for another 360 days, is perhaps the most offensive of these rules though (not to mention, emblematic of January's restrictions, in general). In an effort to keep the celebrations going this year, I've resolved to work sequins and glitter into my January wardrobe—starting with this nearly holographic jumpsuit, which would be so pretty at a January or February wedding. Paired with platform heels and a cute velvet bag, it feels like a fun nod to the 70s.

I'd love to hear: Where do you stand on wearing sequins after the New Year? Total faux pas or fashion rule worth breaking?
