We interrupt our regularly scheduled post with some very exciting news: Shopbop is having their seasonal Buy More, Save More sale, with 20% orders up to $500 and 25% off anything above that, with the code EVENT19. They haven't announced it to the public yet (which means the best pieces are still available), so we literally ended our daily morning meeting early to fill our carts before everyone else learns about it. Since we had so much fun comparing our purchases in the office, we wanted to share our favorite picks here! Here are the items we're each buying from the sale, just don't forget to apply EVENT19 at checkout for up to 25% off:
FARM Rio Max Amazonia Long Sleeve Wrap Dress (originally $200, now $150): I love a dress that feels very dramatic (look at that fabulous print! that deep v!) without actually having to put in much effort. This printed maxi makes a serious statement, but even when worn with flat, strappy sandals and some simple gold hoops, it's about as effortless as it gets.
NUDE Sequin Skirt (originally $312, now $234): A sequined pencil skirt—one that's a little swingy and slightly imperfect—paired with a vintage-inspired tee is about as cool as it gets. It's such an unexpected combination and whether worn with broken-in kicks or a strappy sandal, the juxtaposition is what makes it work so well. This white and silver skirt (with a hot-pink interior lining) is amazing. It's the first thing I put in my cart as soon as I heard about the sale.
LIKELY Charlotte Dress (originally $228, now $171) Even though our trip to Italy is still a few months away, I can see myself wearing this tiered dress with slicked back hair and a handful of bracelets on each arm.
Spiritual Gangster Stripe Sweater (originally $168, now $126): I love the rainbow stripe trend, but it can sometimes feel too young and playful on me. This sweater however, with understated pastel tones against a black background, strikes a perfect balance. I'm even planning on buying the matching joggers too, which would look so cute out to brunch (and bring my home lounge game to a new level).
Staud Shirley Bag in 'Black Croc' (originally $210, now $158): I've been eyeing this bag forever, since our manager brought it to a meeting and looked so pulled-together with her laptop in the transparent section and her personal items in the enclosed pouch. I'm finally using this sale as an excuse to pull the trigger on it, and can't wait to wear it with a simple white tee, white wide-leg pants, and leather sandals. It's so cool on it's own, less is more! (P.S., The Staud bucket bag E loves is also included in the sale.)
Levi's Deconstructed Mini Skirt (originally $150, now $112): Summer is here (in L.A., at least!) and I've somehow made it through life without owning a proper denim mini skirt. I love the idea of wearing a black or vintagey blue mini with my favorite simple grey t-shirt, layered gold necklaces, and fresh white slides.
Free People Liv Block Heel Sandals (originally $138, now $104): I snoozed on the snakeskin cowboy boot trend and sincerely regret it, but also wasn't willing to spend a ton on something that might not be in season a few months from now. These Free People block heels are perfect to carry me through summer and can be worn through an LA fall.
AGOLDE Pinch Waist High Rise Kick Jeans in Talc (originally $168, now $126): I live in the Pinch Waist jeans in blue denim—once you wear them in, they're truly the closest thing I've found to vintage denim. The white version are a Shopbop exclusive, so I'm absolutely ordering a pair. I've been eager to add a pair of perfect white jeans to my closet for spring and summer, and I just scored them.
Studio 33 Woke Shoulder Flap (originally $98, now $74): My purse collection is slim and full of neutrals, but this bag caught my eye a few days ago. It was reasonably priced, had the perfect pop of color and a structured silhouette. Now that it's $74, I definitely can't resist.
Line & Dot Alder Sweater in Grey (originally $99, now $75): We carried this sweater on the Shop first in a fuzzy white, then in light blue, and I didn’t even give it a second glance. Then, we got it in navy (my color) and I loved it so much I grabbed it instantly, and I have to force myself not to wear it more than once a week. So, here I am getting it in grey, because it really is that good. I size up in this one (to a small) to get that oversized-but-not-drowning-in-it look, and I get the most compliments when I wear it with my AGODLE Nico jeans.
Jeffrey Campbell Primo Slides (originally $105, now $79): When Jess told me about the Shopbop sale yesterday, the very first page I hit was Jeffrey Campbell. During the last sale, I made my huge haul, and then got a “You May Also Like” email two days later featuring the most incredibly strange/delightful purple plaid mules with a 1.75” heel. They were right—I did love them, but I’d already made my purchase. Obviously I won’t make the same mistake again.
Free People Beach Party Midi Dress (originally $98, now $74): The reason I haven’t clicked “Buy Now” on my Shopbop cart is this dress. My engagement party is in a month, and I’ve spent hours already trying to find a new dress for under $100. It isn't easy! Our theme is “Cinco de Mayo” so I was hoping to find something super festive; this Free People dress sort of fits the bill. I may get it and spice it up with some crazy party earrings.
Rhode Ella Dress (originally $375, now $282): As someone who wears black 6/7 days a week, adjusting to the bridal event circuit has been a challenge. This gorgeous dress is so simple and chic for the summer that I’ll have no problem ditching my black midi dresses. I’m also picking up this peasant midi and summertime midi from Free People. I’ll probably pair them with these Veja sneakers and a straw bag for a casual, summer time look.
Calpak x Jen Atkin Suitcase (originally $385, now $289): I arguably don’t need any more luggage but this trunk style suitcase is so appealing for my upcoming trips. I love the bold red and the fact that it comes with a case protector is an added bonus. Now when I anxiously wait at baggage claim, I’ll spot my suitcase instantly.
Dolce Vita Zayla Block Heel (originally $120, now $90): I try to wear heels every day since I’m so short but walking to work limits what I can actually wear. These gorgeous block heels will add height, while still being comfortable. Plus, they easily transition from midi dresses and jean jackets to slip dresses and a cropped leather jacket.
Poupette St Barth Mini Dress (originally $310, now $248): As the weather warms up, there is endless appeal to a breezy white dress. This one would dress up beautifully with a red lip and snakeskin sandal, and yet is casual enough to throw on over a chic one piece right after a day by the pool.
Capulet Tie Top (originally $84, now $67): There’s a running joke amongst my family and friends that I never wear color – I stick to black, white, tan, and grey. If there’s one item that will persuade me to deviate from my norm, it’s this coral tie top. I’d pair it with cutoffs, a loose bun, gold hoops, and a swipe of gold eyeshadow.
AGOLDE Distressed Jeans (originally $188, now $150): Few things are more integral to my closet than a great pair of denim. I’m partial to a high rise, distressed style and these fit the bill perfectly. I’m buying these to pair with a black camisole bodysuit, cork heels, and a simple clutch for the perfect summer evening look.
Frame Le Garcon Overall Shorts (originally $295, now $221): I love the danger of white denim, especially because I am prone to spill things on myself daily—every time it comes back into fashion, I want to build myself an all white denim wardrobe and (stylishly, carefully) take on the world. These overall shorts appeal to my 90s nostalgia, yet feel current with their flattering tailoring and stretch denim.
Cult Gaia Rhea Earrings (originally $88, now $66): The trend of statement hoops doesn’t seem to be going anywhere, and I love this clear resin take—transparent goes with everything, right? I am thinking of getting both colors so I can mix and match to my hearts content.
RtA Flynn Blouse (originally $295, now $221): Have you ever seen a red leopard in the wild? Okay, they aren’t real—but this shirt makes me wish I could hear David Attenborough narrating their plight in the Serengeti. I guarantee it would be chic! I plan on tucking this silk shirt into my favorite AGOLDE Pinch Waist denim for a daytime look, or a leather midi skirt to take it into the evening.
