Since the much anticipated "Sex and The City" opened yesterday, I thought it would be fitting to mention one of my favorite episodes, when Carrie and Aidan visit his "cabin" in the ironically named, Suffern. It brought so much humility to Carrie's obsession with clothes, which documented her struggle to dress appropriately for a weekend spent in the country. Though I'm not drawing parallels to myself and Carrie, I just planned a trip with my boyfriend and another couple to stay in a cabin in Tahoe during the 4th of July, and I'm slightly apprehensive about how I will adjust to the new environment. While I so want to fit in with the relaxed vibe by the lake, I fear as though my suitcase will be stuffed with slightly-too-dressy items like this
. Though it's made of a cotton and linen, the ruffled top and cutesy buttons running down the front might just be a dead giveaway that I'm not a local.
