Gray is my favorite unexpected neutral to wear monochromatically. With infinite varying shades to choose from, gray-on-gray always looks cool and fresh to me (unlike say, navy-on-navy which feels a bit one-dimensional). My trick for tonal dressing is to pick polished pieces in different gradations and textures, and play with one other minor color in small pops. The contrasting texture of the boucle-esque dress and darker suede pumps, paired with an asymmetrical burgundy belt and lighter burgundy lip, elevated an otherwise fairly simple ensemble from feeling flat, boring or matchy-matchy.
