Purple and Pinned

As I wrote about here, I consistently gravitate towards gray on gray outfits. They feel less serious than all-black and can be quickly punched up with a bright belt, bold lip, or colorful coat, which I opted for this time around. I love this coat in cold weather because it defies what winter outwear is about. The pretty pastel purple is unexpected, playful, and surprisingly wearable. Since the building blocks of the outfit were so classic (pumps, pencil skirt, boxy tee, structured coat) I added just a touch of flair with an enamel eye pin. It may have taken me a minute to get on board the enamel pin brigade, but this cute version sealed the deal for me. The tiny pop of turquoise looked right at home amongst the tonal grays and icy lilac, and made for a fun little moment.
