When I first started blogging, I became obsessed with statement items that would “make” an outfit. Pieces that I could only wear in limited ways and would end up tossing shortly after (think glittery jackets or uncomfortably tall heels that went with just about nothing—super responsible). As I’ve gotten older and my style has evolved, I’ve noticed that my favorite pieces are usually transitional: Things I can wear to work, for date night with G, or while chasing Sloan on the weekends. Nowadays, it’s something I consistently keep in mind while shopping or curating the Shop. Many of these pieces are versatile dresses, with this lace-up version fitting the bill to a T. The jersey material adds to its functionality and easily transitions from daytime with slides and a draped bomber jacket (how fun is this palm print?) to a night out. I also love the hint of allure that the string detail provides while still leaving me under-exposed.
