One of my all-time favorite lipsticks is Maybelline's Pink Me Up (which I was fortunate enough to stock-pile after they recently discontinued it). Its dusty-rose shade is one I find myself constantly drawn towards not only in beauty items, but also with clothing and home decor. It's pink and feminine, with a maturity that gives it a gravitas. When I came across these pants, I immediately recognized the color as my beloved rose variation, but I didn't anticipate how perfectly they would go with the lipstick. When worn with my blush sunglasses, the similarly-hued items created a vertical continuity from head-to-toe that felt polished and fresh. In choosing a coat to go with this look, I wanted to play off the '70s feel of the pants, so I grabbed an aviator denim jacket, which gave the look a California-cool vibe for a late weekend lunch.
