Don't Put Your Winter Clothes Away Quite Yet (Here's How to Work Them into Your Spring Wardrobe)

Maybe it's because I've lived in sunny L.A. for over a decade now, but I have a hard time investing in pieces that are purely seasonal and can't be worn year-round. On the one hand, I understand that I can't wear my favorite coat in July, but there are several pieces I'd happily wear 365 days, like velvet accents and sweaters. In an attempt to savor some of my favorite "winter" pieces, I put together an outfit that could easily work for any season, with a sleeveless sweater I usually layer under coats and a velvet headband that's balanced-out by the flowing white skirt. Contrast is key here. The knit of my sweater doesn't conflict with my light, airy skirt—it actually complements it. Paired with strappy, summer sandals and bright makeup, you'd hardly recognize these pieces from my winter wardrobe.
Here are a few of my favorite "winter" pieces that will last you all year long:
This architectural sweater camisole is perfect for coats or bare arms ($53)
A mustard velvet headband to go with all your florals ($12)
This on-trend neon sweater tank is striking in the winter, but fits right in during the summer ($29)
I love this embellishment on this statement velvet headband ($50) and this pearl option ($13)
If you're looking for transitional pieces, this sweater tank is a great place to start ($128)
