On paper, you might think this top has too much going on, with a lace-up element, jersey body, and ruffled trim that also happens to be sheer - but it was love at first sight for me. Elizabeth and James tend to do everything well, so I knew it would work somehow. It's such a well-executed mix of casual and feminine, sporty and sexy, and delicate and everyday - like a more beautiful, interesting take on a basic tee. I thought it paired best with slightly distressed denim to offset the romantic ruffles, and threw on my favorite neon rainbow heels for a touch of modernity.
