I have enough tailored outerwear - fitted blazers, petal pink coats - that I felt like I could use a jacket that had a bit of a masculine edge. Of course when also paired with a plaid flannel shirt, it verges on the edge of Brokeback-Mountain-casual, but it's so cozy that I've been wearing it pretty much exclusively since I picked it up last week. I'd always been into the shearling-lined look, but was never a fan of the extra bulk that came along with it. This one doesn't have the shearling line on the sleeves, so it's still warm without making you look like you're wearing football pads underneath your clothes.
This past week while moving, my look has been pretty inspirational: yoga pants from college (remember when they were cropped and kind of bell-bottom-y?), t-shirts with holes, unwashed hair, and chipped nails the length of talons. But things have calmed down around here, at least ...read more
