My closet looks incredibly different than it did ten years ago. Beyond the fact that it's a much more curated selection of pieces (quality over quantity!), it's also less diverse. I used to wear a lot more colors and patterns, but now favor neutral, easy-to-wear pieces that can go with anything. To that end, I've been paying more attention to items that feel unique and special in their construction to add points of interest to more straight-forward outfits. Whether that's in the form of a stiff, wide brim hat or velvet, beaded flats, they're the items worth splurging on that I'm always excited to reach for each time I get dressed.
