There are certain sartorial pairings that work like a charm thanks to complementary proportions and textures. A billowy, bohemian minidress with thigh high stretch suede boots is one of my favorite of said duos. I'd been on the hunt for the perfect over-the-knee pair for ages, and finally settled on what's considered the gold standard for that category of footwear: the Stuart Weitzman Highland boot. I opted for the topo color, a luxe dove gray that's more unexpected than basic black, but just as versatile. The lighter gray makes them feel a bit more wearable during the daytime, too (they're insanely comfortable by the way). The dress is by a designer whose pieces I have been loving lately, as they're flowy, feminine, and so flattering. Normally a cinched-waist that's billowy both above and below doesn't do favors for my body type, but this one fits perfectly. It's the kind of uniform I want to live in all fall—an effortless printed dress you can just throw on on top, with sleek, slimming boots that pull it together to chic effect.
