It's not often that I go to the flea market with a specific item in mind and come home successful. Often I'll look for something like an umbrella stand and come back with two vases, a necklace and a rickety chair (as was the case last month). On Sunday though, we hit the jackpot. There was a large awkward space in our dining room and I'd been searching everywhere for a simple piece that could hold odds and ends. Since I love my stemware collection so much, I hated the idea of keeping it all tucked away behind closed doors. Now everything has a place (including all of our cookbooks, cake stands, pitchers and cocktail napkins) so they're easy to access and add a bit of a lived-in feel that's so crucial for a dining room.
