I haven't had a land line in years, but I keep this phone on my desk for a fun, retro feel.
I get a lot of questions about where I go thrifting (The Rose Bowl and The Melrose Trading Place) and the kinds of things I look for when I visit flea markets. My trick is to never look for one thing in particular. Of course sometimes you leave with exactly what you were hoping for (like
), but I find that it's best to just take note of the random things that catch your eye. Here are a few of the little trinkets I've collected over the years that add some eclectic flair to my place.
I picked up this insect with no real goal in mind, but it now lives happily on the bookshelf. The best part?
The wings flip up so that you can store little trinkets inside (I think it was originally an ash tray).
This globe has parts that are peeling off and entirely outdated countries, but that's what makes it so special.
This antique bucket holds my collection of matchboxes that I swipe up from different restaurants in L.A.
I keep it in the guest bathroom as a much chicer alternative to a bottle of Oust.
