Before and After: Bedroom

Want to know what I've been up to this past week?

I used to conveniently keep the door to our bedroom closed whenever we had company since it was the one room in our place that was sufficiently ugly. Besides the bedside tables that we redid (here), we hadn't gotten around to painting, getting new window coverings and I had been wanting a bench at the foot of the bed for years. This past week, I decided it was time to make some changes and though we're not completely done, it already feels infinitely more cozy and the dark wall creates a dangerous cave-like atmosphere in the morning.

{I decided on Benjamin Moore's "Smoke Gray" on the bottom right}

{Borders were cleaned, cracks were sealed and corners were taped}

{I hung curtains so that they were right up against the ceiling}

{I secured a thick ribbon to the edges of the curtains to add some dimension.}

{I bought a vintage bench at the flea market and reupholstered it with some leftover fabric from the chairs I redid here}
