For the most part, my make-up routine looks identical from day to day. I reach for the same products, apply them quickly, and then run out the door. But for those days when I don't get eight hours of sleep (but want to look like I did), I change things up a bit and follow these three tips for bright eyes.
The first thing I do is fill in my eyebrows. It helps frame my entire face and also draws attention to my eyes. I use a pencil in a shade that's a bit lighter than my natural eyebrows (Ash Blonde) so that the effect is subtle and not jarring (cue: Groucho Marx).
Next I add an illuminating cream to my cheekbones, the corner of my eyes, to the bridge of my nose, and along my brow bone. It's a nice way to add dimension and makes my skin look dewy and fresh.
Lastly, I brush on mascara and then use a liquid eyeliner to add tiny dots in between my top lashes. Once I've added them for the length of my eye, I connect them using small strokes to make a thin, uniform line. It makes my eyelashes look longer and defined, but still natural.
