There are several things I don't hold back on when it comes to praise—an amazing meal, a beautiful top—but fragrance is not one of those things. Growing up, my mom read articles on perfume and studied scent for her own enjoyment, so I learned to share her particularity towards them. I have my go-tos (as detailed in today's earlier post), I know which top notes I like and which I definitely don't, so I'm always reserved when new, buzzy scents come out. When Alina—who's effusive in her praise (there's a reason her Instagram handle is "thehyperbalist")—recommended the new Elizabeth and James scent, Nirvana Bourbon, to me I had my doubts. I wasn't able to smell it until later in the week but as soon as I did, it literally blew me away–to the point that I knew it deserved its own Find of the Week feature. I actually texted Alina to say, "So this might be my favorite perfume ever." Its delicate balance of tuberose with vanilla bourbon and a woody scent is sexy, warm, and incredibly intoxicating. I can't imagine wearing anything else this fall.
