My ambivalence to my hair has been well-documented on this blog. I truly can't get behind a style other than simply brushed, straight hair, and honestly, I think it's because I'm lazy when it comes to doing my hair. For as many skincare steps as I have or multiple palettes I dip into daily, I just don't want to do anything to my hair. Unfortunately for me, I recently got a less-than-great haircut, meaning I need to mix up my hair routine to make it less '90s mom and more effortlessly messy.

My biggest problem with curlers is that they take way too long to use, and I actually have a surprising amount of hair for how thin it is. After heavy research and setting a max budget of $40, I finally found my holy grail: The Alure Three Barrel Curling Iron Wand. At just $39, it is fully foolproof and quick. All you have to do is section your hair, and then, going around your head, place your hair into the curler and clamp down. If you have longer hair, you will follow this process down the full strand, but my hair is complete within one to two clamps per strand (see the video below).

The end result is a simple and smooth, beachy look that takes fewer than three minutes to complete.

Buy it here: Alure Three Barrel Curling Iron Wand ($39)
