Easy Evening Look

Fashion week can be a bit overwhelming when it comes to making decisions: what to wear, how to do your makeup, what to do with your hair, etc. I was inspired to try a slightly retro look that I could do in a matter of minutes, but would have a big impact. Here are the three steps:

After applying my tinted moisturizer, I use a bronzer to add some dimension (ideal for those of us who lack prominent cheekbones). I brush it on from the corner of my mouth and extend it up and out, towards the corner of my ear. I'll also add some along the sides of my nose and along my jaw. Then I rub in highlighting cream on top of my cheekbones and blend it up so that it creates an arc around my eyes.

To create a dramatic eye, I apply a good amount of shimmery brown eye shadow to the inside area of my lid and blend it into the crease. I then use a cocoa-colored liner on the top lash line and smudge a bit below my bottom lashes as well.

To balance out the dark eye, I love a good nude lipstick.

This up-do can be created in under a minute, but looks complicated. I take the top half of my hair and create a volumized bump, securing with bobby pins. I then pull the rest of my hair to meet the bobby pins in a simple sleek bun.
