Work in Progress

August 31st, 2010

After I started working from home, I realized that I needed to transform my desk into a fully functioning office space.  I made drastic improvements last year (see my original desk here), but since the area is so small, I needed to relocate any unnecessary items (namely my vintage globe and phone).   Here are the simple steps I took to ensure that my work space is clean, pretty and most importantly, inspiring.

{These file folders are aesthetically pleasing and functional}

{I now have room for current magazines, a paper weight and my notepad}

{For a fun, rustic touch I made bows out of raffia}

{I treat myself to bright flowers and keep plenty of pictures nearby}

{I spray painted an old chalkboard white and added ribbon to my lamp}

{There’s something so nostalgic about classic, #2 pencils}

    I love your file folders! They’re beautiful! I really need a few of those. And the chalk board for writing notes is such a great idea! I’m constantly writing down little reminders on scraps of paper, and having something fixed in one place that you can constantly write on is a great alternative! :) The little bows on your wall are also a great touch. Really lovely :)

    Hello, Can you please tell me where you got your White metal filing from? I’ve bought the magazine holders from Franc Franc in Japan & I’d love the Filer’s too. :) THank you.

    I love your desk space!! I have a nice white desk as well and I try to keep it clean and organized the best I can. Your desk looks like something out of a magazine! I just went online and found some 1800flowers promotional codes (cause I am that cheap), and I am ordering myself a bright bouquet of flowers for my desk. Maybe it will help me with my productivity!

    Love it, the chalkboard idea is amazing.
    I could not even post a picture of my desk, I don’t have a laptop… I have a big regular computer on an ugly brown table, it’s a mess. I’m getting loads of inspiration here.

    Thanks!!!
