White Chocolate Peppermint Mousse Cups

December 11th, 2012

There are certain days when you need something extra special for dessert – when a sugar cookie or piece of pie just won’t cut it. And don’t get me wrong – this white chocolate peppermint mousse is good. Like really good. But when served in a homemade chocolate cup that you can also eat? You’ll feel like you belong in a slightly more glamorous Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. They’re also pretty fun (or at least a good challenge) to make, since it requires you to blow up balloons and dip them in chocolate, but it’s all worth it when you can eat the entire dessert (recipe here) in the end.

I love the combination of white chocolate and peppermint!

I’m curious to try making the bowls but I might have to delegate that to my husband as I’m scared of balloons lol

The spoon looks good enough to eat as well! I’ve tried this, I had trouble getting the balloon not to stick to the chocolate – a spray of cooking oil did the trick!

  • http://www.thelittlewashhouse.wordpress.com MelD

I, too, thought they were bitesize until I scrolled down…
You could make bitesize ones using eggshells, that would be very cute!
