Tunic Time

July 10th, 2008

Each Summer, I envision myself adhering to a general look, one that usually revolves around flowy clothes, loose hair and earthy sandals. While some might simply coin this as Bohemian, I tend to gravitate towards pieces with just a bit of structure so I never appear sloppy. Tunics fit the bill perfectly and I’m loving all of the elaborately patterned options that have sprung up recently. Since most of the ones I’m drawn to happen to be on the pricier side, I’ve included several of my favorites, all of which are conveniently on sale.

I adore versatile pieces that can just as easily be thrown over white jeans for a daytime barbecue, or used as a cover-up after a day at the beach. My three main criteria for tunics are detailed necklines, ballooned sleeves and a overall slimming cut.

EDIT: For more information on the Shoshanna, Trina Turk and Tory Burch tunics I posted, just click on the pictures!

I’m not really a tunic sort of person, but I do think they look great on people.
They keep things looking put together.

I always dress very 1970s-ish in the summer, and I have no idea why, because it seems to be the only 3 months of the summer where the 70s rears its head in my wardrobe. Just a random detail, lol.
I like that first tunic an awful lot. Paired with tan sandals and big shades, it would be adorable!
