Truffled Mac and Cheese
You’d think that after all of the rich food I ate over Thanksgiving that I’d be subsisting on carrots and celery through December. Instead, last night I decided that Mac and Cheese would be a more appropriate meal and Kraft just wasn’t going to cut it. I used this recipe and substituted Horseradish Cheddar and added some truffle salt for a little bite and an indulgent touch. My tastes have changed a lot since when I was a kid, but comfort food never gets old.

There’s a place in Vancouver that serves truffled mac and cheese, but I’d love to make it at home, it looks SO good! Thanks for the recipe!
i think i may have to make this tonight.
I LOVE mac & cheese, in all of its forms! In the box, from the grocer’s freezer, homemade, etc. etc. The best thing about the homemade kind though is that it gets that lovely crust on the top — so good! I’ll have to try this recipe the next time I’m in the mood for some!
You’ve made many recipes on this site….many that I have tried on my own…but this is the first one that made me lick my screen at work.
This looks divine, i will surely be giving it a try!

Don’t you just love Ina Garten’s recipes? I’ve never had a bad one in many years of trying them.
Just discovered your blog and think it’s fantastic, by the way.
My girlfriend is making “grown up”, ie. not kraft, mac and cheese for a girls weekend and didn’t have a recipe. I gave her this one and I cannot wait to try it, it looks sinful! Thank you for posting!
Oh my goodness! This looks incredible and adding truffle salt is pure brilliance! Thanks for the idea!
You could put Truffle oil on a piece of cardboard and I’d eat it. Truffles = 10/10!
