I have an entire section of my closet dedicated to blouses, but currently it’s only occupied by empty hangers. I own a lot of t-shirts, but when it comes to tops that are slightly more fancy, I have a hard time finding ones that are just right (even this one is missing the bottom button!). Here are some of the more promising options that are great alternatives to my American Apparel tissue-thin t’s.

I too am lacking in the top area but I don’t even have a lot of t-shirts. I’ve got a lot of oversized tunics and tanks. Blegh, I need to diversify.

I have the same problem. I love my comfy tees so much that I completely neglect buying nicer tops too.
Same here. Blouses tend to fit me strangely, for whatever reason, and though I desperately need them for the office, I never seem to buy them.
Its easier getting a dress than getting a blouse its always hard to find the one that fits so nice.
I am right there with you. I always have trouble picking out dressy blouses.

i have the same issues! I have been trying really hard lately to find blouses that are multi functional. sew a cute button on real quick, it only takes a second, latel i have been changing all my buttons in, it adds alot to a shirt.
what a great selection, emily! i’m the same for tops- i only own t-shirts, so i barely ever wear jeans since i feel so underdressed. i only have tons of dresses… i should stock up on a few blouses, thanks for the great finds.
lately I am liking thin straps, it sets off a summer tan so nicely, but I just hate wearing strapless bras… what to do? gr.

My entire wardrobe is lacking, the only thing I have plenty of is black vests and coloured cardigans.
I have trouble finding fancier tops that are to my liking. I buy more in the way of AA bodysuits and loose fitted tees. Whenever I find good deals on Phillip Lim I’m thrilled because his tops work whether I’m in the mood to dress up or down. I definitely need more in the way of silky racer back tops. I love that Antik Batik top. Great find!

Same here! I find myself constantly adding to my comfy tee selection but have a very hard time with tops. It does seem easier just to grab a dress. I would love to find a store that consistenly had the perfect top.

My closet seems to be dedicated to jeans and tank tops. I love tank tops, but really need to branch out and devote some time to finding a few blouses. Great choices, they are very summer-ish and of course, cute!
I buy so many tops… so all my bottoms are lacking. I never own enough jeans, shorts or skirts.

I am also lacking in the top area. I’m more of a Tshirt kind of gal but I’m starting to buy more fancy tops to fill out that section in my closet. So far I’ve bought two flutter tops. It’s hot right now and I love the look and style.
I have entirely way too many “fancy” tops and nothing casual. Come the weekend, I have nothing to wear!
My closet is seriously lacking all of the above. I’m especially smitten with the flutter sleeves – there’s something so ethereal and romantic about flutter sleeves!
I love your selection! I try to keep fancy tops in rotation…I wear jeans to work a lot so that is my solution to not looking frumpy!
Haha, I definitely know the feeling. I somehow always like some vital area of the classic wardrobe is tragically underrepresented…even thought I have two closets stuffed full of stuff.
However, that being said: blouses are the shiz. I’m partial to that Ishi one with the pretty eyelets.

thank you for these!!! I have the opposite issue of Pixel above me, my arms need some serious work. I don’t have “bingo arms” but they need to get firmed up, flutter sleeves are the perfect remedy until I feel my arms are strap ready! Thank you for all the resources!!!

I’m seriously lacking trousers. I have loads of jeans, skirts, cropped pants and dresses. But I don’t have any single pair of long trousers or pants. Oh, I have a black one means for interviews. But that’s it!
