I haven’t worn a belt around my hips since college, when I’d wear them with prairie skirts, turquoise jewelry, and clunky platforms. Instead, I’ve bought belts to wrap around the smallest part of my waist, as a way to make my less-than-lengthy legs appear longer. I saw this belt on display a couple of weeks back and loved the tomboy-inspired look of a low-slung striped belt with broken in jeans so much that I decided to embrace the look, this time without the prairie skirts.

Mustard yellow is one of my favorite colors, right after turquoise. Belts are a great fashion staple, and I have one brown leather one that I wear with my favorite pair of jeans. I feel like it doesn’t look good without it!
