Toasted Marshmallow Shakes
If there are marshmallows in the house, they won’t last more than a few days. I’m not even that crazy about them, but I still manage to shovel handfuls into my mouth, almost ritualistically, every time I pass by the kitchen. Toasting marshmallows (for S’mores) is one of my favorite summer activities, but it somehow loses its appeal in the dark months of winter.
I tried Stand’s famous Toasted Marshmallow Shake when I was in New York for Fashion Week (you can find posts on my trip here, here and here) and my boyfriend and I haven’t stopped talking about it since. It was amazingly decadent, with rich vanilla ice cream and golden marshmallows that were blended into the tastiest thing I’ve ever drunk. I finally found the recipe last week (here) and have been waiting for the perfect time to try it out. Turns out, it was yesterday at 3:30 on a random Monday afternoon and boy, was it sweet.

I have been dying to make toasted marshmallow milkshakes. Yesterday in the grocery store, I almost bought the ingredients, but I felt like I needed a good excuse. You’ve added fuel to my toasted marshmallow milkshake fire!
YUMMY. i’m totally addicted to marshmallows and this looks simply splendid.
This looks ridiculously decadent!
Mmmmm I love marshmallow anything. My husband and I just like to put them in the microwave for 30 secs until they blow up and deflate and turn into a nice hard candy!!!!!! Mmmm I really could go for that right now!!!

Looks delicious! Yum!
Yum, looks amazingly sweet!
Oh dear goodness gracious! Delicious! My daughter is going to love you when I make these!
I, too, am a marshamallow fanatic. They are fat-free, and so soft! Occasionally I run across homemade marshmallows. Oh, and peeps, of course. How could I ever forget the Easter that I ate 80 “roasted chicks”, from over an open flame on the stove? And just last night I sprinkled shredded coconut and white chocolate chips on a saucer, roasted marshmallows over the stove, and then smashed them into the coconut and white chocolate while they were still hot. Delicious, but I earned myself 35 minutes on the Eliptical!
oh yum. read your shopping list on twitter yesterday–this sounds even better than i expected. might just have to try!
Interesting idea ! The toasted marshmallows look great !
Omg! Yum! Definitly will try this recipe soon!

The fact that you love to cook/bake and love marshmallows calls for you to make homemade marshmallows! They’re soo much better than store bought and super easy! I wrote a blog about it but I use Martha Stewart’s recipe and have figured out a few tips!

Wow- that looks amazing! If only I could find marshmallows in Switzerland, I would make that tonight!
I don’t really care for marshmallows unless they’re melting on top of my hot cocoa, but my mom loves them. Since I just got a KitchenAid a couple weeks ago, I’ve been looking for any excuse to use it and decided to make Ina’s marshmallows for my mom. I didn’t use coconut, and they came out great! I’m even enjoying them, and can’t wait to see what my mom thinks. http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/ina-garten/toasted-coconut-marshmallows-recipe2/index.html
That looks absolutely amazing! I love to burn my marshamallows, I am going to have to break my sweets rule to try this.

Wow Girl! did you start something at my house….after 2 weeks of variations….I found that it is just as good, or maybe yummier, with a cherry version and that in Mexico City they make them using the minis and different fruits (always with a vanilla milkshake base). Yes, if you try it, try it all!!! And I am (WAS?) a chocolate girl, not milk and never marshmallows; ever! You see how life always brings us surprises !
I work at Stand and I’m sorry to tell you but that isn’t our recipe.
There is only one Original.
OMG, that looks sooo good! I’m drooling right now!
