My week got off to a not-so-great start, so I’m trying to concentrate on the things that are working for me. Apparently they’re all centered around the color pink, to which I have no objection.

Have you ever tried wine soaked peaches? Simple peel a peach, soak it in Rose overnight, the next day pair it with some vanilla ice cream. Its the perfect summer treat.

I have been loving glitter nail polish recently, but I find it only last about two days before the edges start to get caught on everything and peel off… Even with a layer or two of top coat. Grr.
The shoes are amazing, of course. I love any shoe with a bow.

Ok I am seriously obsessed with your nails! so pretty!! How do you remove it?! I use Deborah Lippman but seriously her glitter polish takes like 1/2 hour to remove.

Because I work on a computer all day & spend most of my free time in the kitchen, I tend to keep my nails short & natural. But for some reason this manicure spoke to me. I just did a gold version with NYC’s Bryant Park (a subtle, shiny gold) & Milani’s Jewel FX in Gold (big, bold glitter). It’s slightly over the top, but fun- & perfect for summer. Thanks, Emily!

Hi there. I encountered this blog because a pic you tweeted of these nails was on Pinterest. I was dying to know the name of the nail polish, too – but you said on facebook that it’s Cal Gel. So does that mean it needs to be done professionally? Argh.

Emily, the the sparkly color that you used in your nail is Sally Hansen Salon Effects real polish strips in 210 Frock Star strips.

Hey Maria,
While I love ‘Frock Star’ and the fun, rainbow glittery look, unfortunately Sally Hansen doesn’t make an equivalent in light pink (like my nails here). The best way to achieve the look at home is with a little top coat and then sprinkle real glitter on top (I like Martha Stewart). I hope this helps clear up any confusion!
