The Times They Are A-Changin’
After 10% of my company was let go this week, I’ve been just a bit stressed to say the least. Here are some of the things that are getting me through these tough times (and putting a smile on my face).
-In college, there was a girl who would leave horrendously angry comments on the fridge addressed to those who ate her food. She totally should have bought these (via Layers of Meaning).
-If you’ve ever been through a break-up, the lyrics to this song will make you melt.
-Who needs chocolates and flowers when you can have these?
-After spending an inexcusable amount of time here, I’ve officially sworn off buying popcorn at the movies and drinking Jack in the Box’s Oreo shakes on a regular basis.
-Isn’t this just about the sleekest menswear watch you’ve seen?
-This makes me think that perhaps less isn’t always more.
-I’m embarrassed that this made me laugh out loud.
I hope you all have lovely weekends!
xo

Aw, try to have a fun weekend, relax and get your mind off things. I love your list, and you’re always so optimistic and cheerful. We love you for that!!! x
It is so all about holding onto the small thigns that make you happy – that and spending a few hours in the magical depths of topshop…
those lunchbags are hilarious…

I adore that picture and the tips!!
Times are crazy, just yesterday the professional firm that is supposedly doing SO well let people go out of the blue…. scary indeed!!
What a sweet post… it made me smile, too!
Oh lady, how nerve-wracking. I certainly hope your job is secure, and that your fellow employees are OK.
Thanks for sharing the theft-proof lunch bags – what a hoot!
That menswear watch you like is a knockoff of a Citizen watch that is eevennn prettier (and better made) that I have — bought it on eBay for 20$ 2 years ago…. amazing! It is by far my favourite watch… look for it on eBay they may have more.
That song is so sweet and endearing… thanks for the pick-me-up this morning!
oh my emily- i hope everything is okay!
i know it will be.
LOVE the watch- i just bought a timex off ebay a week ago that looks the same!!!
i have to get it sized as it is Xlarge, but i LOVE it!

Oof—I hear you on the job stress. My husband’s company is letting a bunch of people go too. These links are a great antidote though! Especially loving the lunch bags—we had a lunch thief in my old office and it cause SERIOUS strife!
I hope your job is safe! We found out on Tuesday that things are safe until the new fiscal year, in July, and then things have to be reevaluated. Yay!
have a fabulous weekend – such a fun collection of things
i’m in the same boat..my company isletting people go daily, and those of us still around are getting our salaries cut at the same speed
but that obama pic did make me laugh too
Hi there-poor little kitty, but you have to laugh! have a lovely weekend!
i’d definitely go with the Alexander McQueen rather than chocolates & flowers anyday! hope you’ll have fab weekend! x
Angry fridge messages have always cracked me up. The people who leave them are such psychos.

Relax as much as you can and be happy! Those anti theft lunch bags freak me out so much that I wouldn’t be able to eat out of them.

You still have a job, so they must want to hold on to you. And even if they don’t, you’re not alone – and it may be your best opportunity ever.

Those peeptoes are amazing!!
Even though I only work as a part time sales assistant, I can understand how tough it must have been when your company made that cut. One of my favourite girls at work was let go and it was so sad!

i’m sorry about your company! layoffs are hard to deal with.
i love your link posts though!
I’m glad you’re still working. Hell, all of us who are still working should feel very lucky and grateful these days.
so, did our President really nail that poor kitty with a snowball? That’s the best thing I’ve seen all day! And I wish you hadn’t posted that calorie listing website. Ignorance is bliss!
I think I’m being behaviorally targeted by M & Ms ads on your page.
Such a cute picture! love it.
I also died laughing at the lunch bags. So hilariously great.

I was just introduced to your sight and I am in LOVE.
I was looking through your Archives and stumbled upon the fact that.. if a boy break up to you, Listen to The guy that says Goodbye to you is Out of his Mind. Yep, LOVE this song! I always tell my girlfriends about it if they are having boy trouble.
I didn’t know other people love the song too.
Good to know Im not the only one.
I am so happy I came across your lovely blog =)
Thanks for the wonderful readings!
