The Smoky Cat

May 3rd, 2012

When I get ready to go out at night, I usually decide between a smoky eye or winged liner. They both add just enough drama, are easy to apply, and look great in dimly lit rooms. But before working with Tom Pecheux, of Estée Lauder, I had never thought to combine the two into a look that we’ve since deemed “The Smoky Cat.” It has the sultriness of a smoky eye with the sophistication of a winged liner and I’m entirely obsessed. I hope you find the below video useful in recreating it yourself!

Love it! He made it look so easy by only using a couple products and brushes. I definitely want to try this out tonight…hopefully it looks as good as when he did it on you.

The smokey cat! So smart, and I love the name. I don’t usually go for dark liner and smokey colors, because I’m more of a browns/neutrals gal, but I definitely want to try out this look.

Salut Emily, I’ve been following your blog for some time now in silent admiration, until now!

I’d like to say thanks for the smoky cat eye post, I’ve just tried it out and it looks great. I too am in awe of the cool, casual look of the Parisian girls.

Having just moved to France from the UK I’m finding the cool, casual look (with flats) hard to adjust to, I’ve never been really successful with that look as my normal staples are a clinched waist dress, heels and a pop of bright lipstick so your post went down a treat.

I’ll be browsing your outfit archive for some ideas as you always seem to pull off the cool casual look, I think the denim shirt and shorts in the Living Green post could be a great starting point, they look great. xxx

Oh, I LOVE this look! I will def try it on the next girls night out. The usual smokey eye looks to heavy and goth on me no matter how light I try to do it…I have extremely pail skin and dark hair. This I think, would look nice but sexy.
