Cupcakes and Cashmere

The Parker Palm Springs

June 22nd, 2010

{At The Lemonade Stand, an adorable place to order gourmet food (like Kobe Beef Hot Dogs) by the pool.}

This past weekend I had the pleasure of being put up at The Parker in Palm Springs.   Between the exquisite property (complete with fire pits, hammocks, pools and croquet courts), the decor (done by Jonathan Adler), the wonderful meals and excellent service, I would have been content to never return home.  We didn’t leave the property once throughout our stay and took full advantage of everything the hotel had to offer.

As extra incentive to experience your own getaway at The Parker, they’re extending an offer of 25% off your room rate for any 2-night stay between now and the end of summer (September 22, 2010).

Simply call 760.883.1966 by July 6th and mention “Cupcakes and Cashmere.”

{I loved eating breakfast out on our patio, complete with our own hammock.  I ordered blueberry pancakes with devonshire cream.}

{The citrus-colored scene at Norma’s is almost as great as the food.}

{How fun is this huge chess board?  I was obviously pretty enamored and spent entirely too much time here.}

{My deep tissue massage at the hotel’s spa, Palm Springs Yacht Club, was the perfect way to end a day spent in the sun.}

{Everything about our room was gorgeous, even the cherry red door.}

{Norma’s Doughnuts, with lemon custard and blueberry jam.}

{We took advantage of the Petanque court at dusk.}

{The lobby has such a great retro vibe, full of color and texture.}

{Since we couldn’t pick a favorite, we spent equal time at the chlorine-free saline pool and the jewel-box pool.}

    That pink lipstick suits you so well – but then again, you’re so pretty, you could get away with anything! That red door is such a nice touch (nice nails, by the way), I wish more hotels had the design sense to do that. I’m new to your lovely blog – love it – and will be back regularly.

    This looks like heaven in a hotel!! Must get to Palm Springs one day. And loving the pop of bright colour that the location inspired (I too get into the spirit of dressing for the location when traveling).

    Wow – I did a shoot 2 years ago at The Parker and it really is the best place ever! Thanks for the reminder – via some amazing shots – of just how magical it is;)

    Wow – Emily this post is beautiful! Those pancakes look simply delicious! And I’m totally obsessing over your pink lipstick!

    One thing I have to mention though is I couldn’t get over some of the negative comments for this post! I mean I guess it’s so easy for people to sit behind a computer and type away (anonymously)…it all just seemed a little harsh to me! In the 2 years I’ve been following this blog, I’ve never once felt like you were being pretentious or doing this simply to push products of any sort (as some of the comments mentioned)..it’s the one blog I chose if that’s all I have time for! The perfect amount of words and pictures every day! So whatever you’re doing, keep it up!

    Love your blog :)

    Braided hair looks great on you. I like the effortless yet beautiful style though which you express yourself. I also love the fact that you enjoy cooking :) I find cooking to be an amazing experience especially when everything turns out :)

    Keep it up

    just called to book a trip for my one-year anniversary! unfortunately, they won’t honor the discount on sunday – tuesday of labor day weekend. this is not entirely unexpected, as it is a holiday, but i wish the wording they provided you with, for the offer, had stated this. it was a disappointment and def. started my experience with the hotel off on the wrong, unaccommodating, foot. “any 2 night stay” is entirely untrue. bummer….
